Sarah at Autosport Part I
The Show took place at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham from Thursday 14th January to Sunday 18th (with Thursday and Friday being trade days and Saturday and Sunday open to the public).
Sarah went along on the Wednesday 13th with her trusty helpers, other half Adrian and friend Haydn Price to set up the Stand ... only to be greeted as soon as they got close to Birmingham on the M6 with lots of snow!
After a short wait in the N12 lorry park, the van slid down to the gate for Hall 6 where the trio had just 1 hour to unload everything or lose their £50 deposit!
Then, return the van and ski back to the NEC to unpack and set up!

With people milling around all over the place, frantically trying to get organised in a fairly short space of time, the BWRDC stand started to take form... slowly but surely.
Finally, by lunchtime, they were ready for the 3 cars and two karts to arrive!
Car one - an extremely pretty Alfa Romeo arrived first and was manoeuvred into place followed swiftly by a Mitsubishi Evo III and an Alonso kart.

... followed by Car Number Two and Kart...
The only thing missing now was the Formula Renault - the car going centre stage!
With frantic telephone calls, the good news arrived at 3.29 p.m that the driver had been to collect the car from Newbury and was on his way! Panic over!

The Formula Renault finally made it to the NEC and was carefully manoeuvred into place in front of the BWRDC Tower and Plasma Screen which would be running a promotional DVD for the club using virtual presenter driver-members, including Sarah.
Everyone then breathed a sigh of relief that the stand was completed and ready for the show - but the drama wasn't quite over for the day!
The BWRDC Stand was against a shell scheme wall and, on the other side was a stand selling clothing.
Unfortunately, they had hooked clothing rails over the top of the dividing wall and it decided to collapse!!!!
Fortunately, no one was hurt and none of the BWRDC stand was damaged!
A temporary fix was put into place until morning when the show began...
Finally, the stand was ready to go! Cue BIG glass of wine in celebration!
